Welcome to "Dances With Jesus."
The verse above has been the prayer and passion in recent years for ourselves, our children, our grandchildren and all our family.  We pass it on to you.  It was the passion Jesus expressed in His longest and last recorded prayer to His Father before going to the cross.  It was a final request for those closest to Him.  All the previous teaching and preaching on eternal life is now summed up in this one statement of Jesus...to "know" the Father and the Son.   Knowing religion, good works, moral conduct, and even knowing about God and Jesus, while having value, are not the same as really "knowing" Him...and therefore not the same as eternal life.

What does it mean to really "know" the Father and Jesus?  In the original language of our passage above, the word for "know" is enlightening and powerful.  It is not about the doing of religious activity and just getting it right, it is about intimacy and "being."  The "being" of relationship and the life of love, and love of life, that flows from there will leave the simple "doing" of religious activity bankrupt by comparison.

We seek to share with loved ones some devotionals, studies, thoughts, and other teaching resources we believe approach Christianity from a realm of rest.  Christianity is not about all our activity, it is  what, or really Who, is sourcing the activity of our lives. Am I working my "head off" for Jesus, or is Jesus, who is the "Head of all things," working His life in and through me thereby creating an overflow to my world?  One way is tiring, one is transforming!  Which do you desire?

As you get to really "know" Him, we hope you dance!
